The mission of BSN at UNF student-led organization is to be a safe, brave space of belonging, fellowship, community, and celebration for African American nursing students and UNF students interested in admission to the UNF nursing program as they navigate challenges unique to them during their nursing school journey and pursuit of a career in nursing.

Our mission is to serve the citizens of Duval County by providing additional trained manpower to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department (JFRD) at community events and within its stations. We aim to create meaningful opportunities for University of North Florida students to obtain CPR certifications, gain hands-on experience in emergency medicine, and develop the skills necessary to pursue careers in healthcare and public safety.

In the future, we hope to expand our partnership with JFRD and the University of North Florida Police Department (UNFPD) to provide medical standby services at additional university and community events. Through these efforts, we seek to strengthen the connection between students, emergency services, and the community while helping prepare the next generation of healthcare and emergency medical professionals.

Members will have access to free CPR refreshers and continuing education opportunities that can count toward maintaining their existing EMT, EMR, Paramedic, and RN certifications in Florida and nationally. Members will also have opportunities to gain hands-on experience at Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department (JFRD) stations, participate in certification courses offered by JFRD, and work behind the scenes at Jacksonville Jaguars games and other major events.

These opportunities allow members to build valuable professional experience, network with JFRD leadership and healthcare professionals, and establish connections that can support their future careers in emergency medicine, fire rescue, nursing, and other healthcare fields.

Non-certified members will have the opportunity to receive training and become certified as Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs). This provides members with an entry-level healthcare certification they can use to gain clinical and emergency-response experience, serve their community, and build a strong foundation while pursuing higher-level certifications such as EMT or Paramedic.

UNF Associated Builders and Contractors Student Chapter exists to teach UNF Construction Management Students or other construction-related degree programs about the commercial construction industries. ABC helps with mentoring, teaching, networking, and allowing for the future leaders of the construction industry to become more knowledgeable about the construction industry. ABC student chapter members learn through a variety of industry associations and school events, including regular membership meetings, guest speakers, internship opportunities, community service projects, fundraisers, career events, job site tours, and other activities. In the spring, the club will compete in the ABC Construction Management Competition which provides an opportunity to experience an actual project that exhibits unique characteristics and issues. The competition focuses on estimating, project management, scheduling, quality control, safety, as well as written and presentation skills.
