Together we will view the documentary film, Pink Ribbons, Inc., by Lea Pool that critically examines the commercialization of the breast cancer awareness movement and the motivations behind pink ribbon campaigns. The film argues that many corporations profit from the cause, and that the movement's focus on marketing and a positive "battle" mentality can be a disservice to survivors and research, especially when compared to the lack of focus on prevention and environmental causes of cancer.
